Indian Affairs hearing on Missouri River tribes

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee is holding a hearing this morning on the impact of the Flood Control Act of 1944 on tribes along the Missouri River.
Tribes along the river lost hundreds of thousands of acres to dams that were authorized by the act. Congress has provided compensation to tribes for the effects of the dams but more has been sought for individual tribal members.
