Rep. Boren hopes to put Indian apology in IHCIA

Rep. Dan Boren (D-Oklahoma) hopes to attach the Indian apology resolution to the Indian Health Care Improvement Act.
Boren is taking up the issue for the late Rep. Jo Ann Davis. The Democrat from Virginia, who died last October, was the original sponsor of H.J.Res.3
The resolution apologizes to Indian people for "a long history of official depredations and ill-conceived policies" by the United States.
It was attached to the Senate version of the IHCIA, which passed on February 26.
"I am pretty optimistic," Boren told the Associated Press. "I don't see how this should be controversial."
