Yankton Sioux parents file suit over hog farm

Parents of the Yankton Sioux Tribe of South Dakota filed a lawsuit in federal courts on Wednesday aimed at stopping a hog farm in Charles Mix County.
The Head Start Concerned Parents want Long View Farms to comply with environmental and historic preservation laws. They say no analysis was conducted before construction began.
The tribe operates a Head Start about two miles from the site, according to the lawsuit. The parents say poses a risk to their children's health and safety.
The farm is located near tribal land. The only means of access is a
Bureau of Indian Affairs road.
