Witness list for House hearing on Missouri River bills

The House Natural Resources Committee, Subcommittee on Water and Power, will hold a hearing on Thursday on H.R.155, the Lower Brule and Crow Creek Tribal Compensation Act.

The bill compensates the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe and the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe for damages caused by water projects along the Missouri River. The tribes lost valuable land, sacred sites and other property to dams created by the federal government.

The bill is one of three on the agenda. The witness list follows:
Panel 1:
Robert Quint, Director of Operations, Bureau of Reclamation, Washington, D.C.
He will be accompanied by Elizabeth Southerland, Director of the Assessment and Remediation Division, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., to answer questions regarding H.R. 5511.

Martha Rudolph, Director for Environmental Programs, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environments, Denver, Colorado
