Native woman killed in crash after lacrosse game

A 38-year-old teacher's assistant from the
Carry the Kettle First Nation in Saskatchewan died in a car accident on Monday night.
The woman was driving a children's lacrosse team home from a game when their van collided with another vehicle. As many as 12 children, between the ages of 8 and 13, were injured, as was the driver of the other vehicle.
The children were treated for various injuries, including broken bones. Chief Barry Kennedy's nephew was among those in the crash.
"As tragic as this is, it could have been much worse," Kennedy told The Regina Leader-Post.
The driver of the other vehicle was also from the reserve.
