UK Paper: Clinton campaign dies on reservation
Monday, June 2, 2008

The Guardian newspaper says Sen. Hillary Clinton's (D-New York) presidential campaign died on the Pine Ridge Reservation on May 28.

The paper said Clinton spoke to about 200 people on the reservation. The campaign event was painted as a failure -- though no comparisons were made to Custer.

"Her face as she took the stage at the Pine Ridge reservation was drained of colour. People took pictures anyway. Those old enough to remember are still talking about the late Robert F Kennedy's visit to this remote outpost during the 1968 campaign," the paper said.

Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) are in the final stretch of the primary campaign. South Dakota and Montana, both states with a high Indian population, go to the polls tomorrow.
