New York to sue over Oneida Nation land-into-trust

The state of New York will be suing the Interior Department over its decision to take 13,000 acres of land into trust for the Oneida Nation.

The state's lawsuit is expected to be filed by June 19. According to the Madison County attorney, the suit raises 20 complaints -- including a constitutional challenge.

Madison County is joining the lawsuit. Oneida County plans to vote today on the issue. All of the land at issue in the dispute is within the two counties.
