Lawyers for a Native man from Canada who is accused of murdering
American Indian Movement activist
Anna Mae Pictou Aquash are seeking to delay his trial.
John Graham is scheduled to go to trial in September. His attorneys want to wait until October.
Graham already received one delay in his trial. He also fought his extradition from Canada to the United States for more than a year.
Aquash was Mi'kmaq from Canada. She was killed on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota in December 1975.
Arlo Looking Cloud, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving a life sentence for his role in the crime.
