Hazel Brown, oldest Otoe-Missouria, dies at 103

Hazel Frances Barnes Brown, who was believed to be the oldest member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma, died on July 27. She was 103.
Brown was born in Nebraska in 1904. Along with her siblings, she was placed in foster care after the death of her mother but she later reunited with her family and father.
After marrying, she lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, the Pacific Northwest and Canada. She later moved to Virginia, where she died last month.
