Kalyn Free excited to attend Democratic convention
Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Kalyn Free, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, is one of the more than 140 Native American delegates attending the Democratic National Convention this week.

Free praised the opening day speeches by Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts and Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama (D-Illinois).

"You can feel the energy," Free told The McAlester News-Capital of the convention activities in Denver.

Free, the founder of INDN's List, is one of four Indian superdelegates to the convention. She endorsed Obama in May.
