Abramoff pleads for leniency ahead of sentencing

Attorneys for Jack Abramoff submitted 95 letters to a federal judge on Thursday in hopes of securing a reduced sentence for the jailed lobbyist.
The letters came from Abramoff's family, Jewish leaders and his friends. They called the former Republican power broker a changed man after he was sent to jail on bank fraud charges.
Abramoff will be sentenced on September 4 for defrauding his tribal clients. The
Department of Justice wants the terms to run concurrently and says Abramoff has cooperated extensively with an ongoing corruption probe.
