Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Residents of two South Dakota reservations have been without power since last Wednesday.

The Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and the Pine Ridge Reservation were among those hit by the blizzard. Utility crews are trying to restore power to the communities.

"Things are going, but they're going slow," Lacreek Electric general manager Wayne told The Rapid City Journal.

The Oglala Sioux Tribe declared an emergency as a result of the storm. One community has been living in a local school since last Wednesday.
