Army to move training center away from sacred site

The
U.S. Army says it is dropping plans for a training center near a sacred site at
Fort Sill in Oklahoma.
The
Comanche Nation won an injunction to block construction of the facility. The tribe says the warehouse will prevent its members from practicing the religion at Medicine Bluffs, a sacred site.
In hopes of having the case dismissed, the Army says it canceled the contract for the current site and is looking for a new location. The tribe says it will oppose the government's motion in order to protect Medicine Bluffs from all future development.
