Crow man finds new project despite past troubles

Ted Hogan, a member of the
Crow Tribe of Montana with a questionable past, is leading a new energy development venture on the reservation, The Billings Gazette reported.
Hogan was convicted of corruption in 1990 after serving as secretary for the tribe. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to pay $35,100 in restitution.
Hogan was paying off the money but federal prosecutors say he lied about his financial situation. They say he duped investors out of a $4 million for a Crow energy project that never came to fruition.
A federal jury acquitted Hogan in January 2007 but he remains under federal investigation, according to the Gazette. His new plan is to help a group of tribal members called Raven Economic Development Services find investors.
