Friday, November 21, 2008

A member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder for a fire that led to the deaths of two siblings.

Akeem Rooks, 18, admitted he set a fire to his family's home in a rural area of the reservation. Fire fighters weren't able to respond in time to save Rooks' 4-year-old sister and 2-year-old brother.

Rooks also pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
