Former Ute financial adviser files counterclaim

The former financial adviser for the Northern Ute Tribe of Utah has filed a counterclaim after being sued of fraud.

John Jurrius says the tribe owes his firm monthly fees and other compensation. He says he helped the tribe achieve "financial success" after suffering through poverty.

Jurrius was reportedly paid $600,000 a year to advise the tribe. He was forced out by a new slate of tribal leaders in 2007.
