The
Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts is interesting in tapping into wind power on its reservation in Martha's Vineyard.
The tribe has conducted two studies to determine the feasibility of a wind turbine facility. A third study, using a 164-foot meteorological tower, is underway to find out the best place for a facility.
Tribal planner Durwood "Woody" Vanderhoop told The Martha's Vineyard Times the tribe should be able to evaluate the data collected by the tower by July 2009.
