Al Franken was declared the winner of the U.S. Senate race in Minnesota on Monday but Republican
Norm Coleman indicated he would challenge the results in court.
After a recount of nearly 3 million votes, Franken defeated the incumbent Coleman by just 225 votes, according to the state's independent canvassing board.
Indian voters on the
Red Lake Nation voted overwhelmingly for Franken, who visited reservations throughout his campaign. Tribal leaders said they appreciated the attention.
