South Dakota's Congressional delegation has introduced a bill to add $132 million to the trust funds for the
Lower Brule Sioux Tribe and the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe.
Congress created the accounts to compensate the tribes losing land to dams along the Missouri River. But the amounts they received weren't comparable to those received by other tribes.
The bill sets the Crow Creek account at $69 million and the Lower Brule account at $130 million. It bars future claims for compensation.
