Pojoaque Pueblo leader completes Boston Marathon

George Rivera, the governor of
Pojoaque Pueblo in New Mexico, completed his first
Boston Marathon in 3:29.55.
Rivera, 45, said he had a tough time finishing the race. But his time put him in the top 44 percent of the men who competed.
"Running helps me in different ways," Rivera told The Santa Fe New Mexican. "I have a sense of praying when running. My mind becomes very clear. Running helps me make the right decisions."
Rivera said his wife, Felicia, motivated him to get into running. He completed his first marathon last June and ran his second in August. His wife also runs marathons.
