Chamberlain pitches error-free game for Yankees
Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Joba Chamberlain, a member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, led the New York Yankees to another error-free game on Monday.

Chamberlain pitched a career-high eight innings in the 5-2 game against the Cleveland Indians. But it was his dive to catch a bunt that was the hit of the night.

"It was quite a belly flop is the way I’d describe it," Manager Joe Girardi told The New York Times. "It's an unbelievable play. It changed the game."

"Hands down, that’s the best I’ve ever seen him," added fellow player Nick Swisher.

The Yankees have played 18 straight games without an error, a major league record.
