FWS cites increase in demand for eagle feathers

The
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has seen a "significant demand" for eagle parts in the west, a special agent told The Denver Post.
A whole eagle carcass might sell for $1,000 or $1,500 on the black market. Tail feathers of immature golden eagles bring about $100 and the tail fan of golden and bald eagles brings between $500 and $800, according to FWS.
Federal agents have been monitoring the trade of eagle feathers and parts and recently arrested tribal members in Washington and Oklahoma.
