South Dakota group seeks money for cultural site

The
Alliance of Tribal Tourism Advocates is seeking the release of funds to continue work on an outdoor Native art market, living history village and powwow grounds and arena in
Rapid City, South Dakota.
The city has authorized $812,000 for the project. But the money was set aside for the year 2012.
To move forward with plans, the group wants between $100,000 and $150,000 to pay for design and cost estimate work. The overall project is expected to cost $1.3 million.
The issue will be discussed at a council meeting on Monday, June 15.
