Navajo weaver Sarah Natani shared jokes and traditions as the "Sheep Is Life" celebration began on Tuesday.

Natani, who is teaching a dyeing class at the event, explained how she gets orange wool. "We tell them it comes from orange sheep. They ask where we get orange sheep, and we tell them you feed them lots of carrots. A lot of people believe us," said Natani, The Farmington Daily Times.

This is the 13th annual "Sheep Is Life" event, which is organized by DinĂ© Be' IinĂ¡.
