Senate resolution apologizes for slavery

The
Senate unanimously passed
S.Res.159, a resolution to apologize for slavery.
The resolution states that it can't be used to make the case for reparations. The
House is expected to pass a similar version next week.
Congress has considered, but never has passed, a resolution to apologize to Native people for their treatment by the federal government. The resolution does not authorize money claims.
