Dr.
Yvette Roubideaux, a member of the
Rosebud Sioux
Tribe of South Dakota, was sworn in as the director of the
Indian Health Service at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Monday.
Roubideaux was administered the oath of office by
Health and Human Services
Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Afterwards, she gave a short speech about her priorities to improve health care for American Indians and Alaska Natives.
