Al Franken will be joining the
U.S. Senate after winning a court case that prompted a concession from Republican
Norm Coleman.
Franken will be the 60th Democrat in the chamber. The party now has a filibuster-proof majority.
Franken campaigned several times on reservations in Minnesota. Coleman was forced to defend his record on Indian issues, though he was unable to cite many legislative achievements.
