Wisconsin tribe turns farm into youth facility

The
Forest County Potawatomi Tribe of Wisconsin is turning a historic horse farm into a youth retreat facility.
The tribe bought the Campbell Farm a few years ago. Employees volunteered their time on Wednesday to start cleaning up the site.
"We figured if we made the effort to come out here that people would begin taking the idea of the place more seriously. It’s the vision of the council and the community to create better options for our young people," tribal administrator Eugene Shawano told The Rhinelander Daily News.
Shawano said the tribe hopes to create a place where Native youth can feel safe.
