The
House Natural
Resources Committee held an oversight hearing this morning on the
Native American Graves
Protection and Repatriation Act.
The hearing lasted about 90 minutes. Tribal witnesses discussed the inadequate funding of NAGPRA grants, the length of time it takes to go through the repatriation process and the significant resources needed to follow it.
