Thursday, October 15, 2009 Filed Under: Politics Labor Department Secretary Hilda L. Solis will host tribal leaders on Wednesday, November 4, prior to the White House Tribal Nations Conference in Washington, D.C. Solis will discuss her priorities for economic and workforce development in Indian Country. Top department officials will participate in the event. "This first-of-its-kind meeting will mark a new beginning in the ongoing collaboration between the Department of Labor and tribal nations," said Secretary Solis. "I look forward to integrating this priority into each of the department’s agencies, which will focus on building meaningful relationships that engage the tribes in our ongoing work."
