Rep. Kennedy urged to back land-into-trust fix

The United for Justice Campaign is urging Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-Rhode Island) to support a bill to fix the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar.

Kennedy, the co-chairman of the Congressional Native American Caucus, hasn't stated whether he supports a fix to ensure all tribes can participate in the land-into-trust process. The bill would allow the Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island to acquire trust lands.

Kennedy isn't currently listed as a co-sponsor for H.R.3697 or H.R.3742, bills that would address the court decision.
