Cobell remains hopeful with Obama on trust fund

Elouise Cobell, the lead plaintiff in the
Indian trust fund lawsuit, said she remains hopeful with
President Barack Obama in the White House.
"This administration seems to care more than those I have dealt with in prior years," Cobell, a member of the
Blackfeet Nation of Montana, told The Green Bay Press-Gazette. "They really seem to be in tune with Native issues. I'm just so hopeful."
During the campaign, Obama said he was "committed to resolving equitably" with tribes and individual Indians for mismanagement of their trust assets. So far, he has maintained the same positions on Cobell and other trust lawsuits as the Bush administration.
