Nez Perce Tribe to distribute stimulus payments

The
Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho will distribute $1,000 to tribal members as part of an economic stimulus package.
Tribal members voted to create the payments. Initially, the money was supposed to come from gaming revenues.
But the tribe didn't have time to wait for federal approval of a revenue allocation plan. So the payments are coming from an old settlement fund.
