Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe says officers acted illegally

The
Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe of Washington admitted two officers acted outside of their authority when they stopped and detained three non-Indian men off the reservation.
The tribe fired Gus Goller, the lead officer who was in charge of the October 3 incident. The second officer wasn't fired and was following orders from Goller at the time.
The tribe initially backed the officers and said they were within the tribe's "usual and accustomed hunting grounds." County prosecutors were ready to charge the men but said the tribe's acknowledgment of wrongdoing was sufficient.
