Groups tackle dog problem at reservation trailer park
Friday, January 22, 2010

About 100 volunteers from five non-profits will head to the Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Reservation in California in hopes of sterilizing dogs at a troubled trailer park.

An estimated 400 to 500 dogs live at Desert Mobile Home Park, also known as Duroville. Some are kept as pets but many roam wild at the overcrowded facility, which was the subject of a federal court trial against its owner for substandard conditions.

The non-profits hope to sterilize at least 200 dogs.
