Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation battered by storm

Power is out across most of the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and water remains a big concern in the aftermath of a four-day winter storm in South Dakota.
The storm caused power lines to snap and fall on the reservation. Repairs haven't been made due to poor road conditions so residents have gone four days without electricity.
The
Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe is encouraging residents to head to shelters. “We’re trying to keep people from freezing,” vice chairwoman Sharon Lee told The Rapid City Journal. "As far as we know, no one has died yet.”
The power outage forced the evacuation of a dialysis unit on the reservation. Patients were sent to Rapid City. “It’s been hard on everyone,” Keith Annis told the paper.
