President Barack Obama signed a
declaration of emergency to help the
Hopi Tribe and the
Navajo Nation recover from a severe winter storm.
Supplies were being flown and driven to the two reservations, where people were blocked in due to high snow and deep mud. "They're very much still in emergency response, trying to get coal, wood, medical supplies and food to those communities, Sherrie Collins, the emergency manager for Coconino County, told The Arizona Daily Sun.
The storm also affected parts of the Navajo Nation in New Mexico.
