Choctaw woman headed to Obama's State of Union

Debbie Powell, a member of the
Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, will attend
President Barack Obama's first State of the Union this evening.
Powell works for her tribe's housing authority. The tribe received funding under the
American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act of 2009 to build homes for more than 89 elders.
"It’s a huge honor. I’m still pinching myself to make sure I’m not asleep. I’m thrilled to be representing our tribe," Powell told The Oklahoman.
Powell will sit in
First Lady Michelle Obama's box during the address.
