Embattled lobbyist signs deal with another firm

A Republican lobbyist who resigned from his firm after large payments he received from four tribes were made public was signed a deal with another lobby shop, The Washington Post reports.
Jack Abramoff will steer business to Cassidy & Associates, according to the "Special Interests" column. He will not be an employee of the firm.
Abramoff used to work for Greenberg Traurig, one of the top lobbying firms in Washington, D.C. He split after The Post reported that he and a close associate not affiliated with the firm received in excess of $45 million in fees from four tribes.
Greenberg Traurig subsequently said it was performing an internal investigation of Abramoff's work in light of his relationship with Michael Scanlon, a public relations executive who received $33 million from the tribes.
