Monday, January 12, 2004

Mark Chino was sworn in as president of the Mescalero Apache Nation of New Mexico on Friday.

Chino defeated incumbent Sara Misquez this past November. He faced her two times, winning once but losing in a revote.

Chino is the son of former president Wendell Chino. He said he would carry on his father's goal of economic development.
