Rival Meskwaki council won't leave offices
Wednesday, August 13, 2003

The recognized council of the Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa is asking county sheriffs to evict a rival group from tribal offices.

The Tama County sheriffs aren't sure if they can do that. The rival council, led by Homer Bear Jr., says it won't leave until a dispute over the leadership is settled through a recall election.
