Oneida Nation families await answer on eviction
Monday, October 27, 2003

An Oneida Nation judge is holding a teleconference today on the status of four families who are being evicted by the tribe.

The families claim they are being targeted because they have spoken out against tribal political leaders. The tribe says it is trying to ensure safe homes.

The families are asking the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals to intervene. A federal judge denied their request in a decision this past August.
